Job Description

Procurement Product Regulatory Compliance Specialist is an opening within our Procurement Operations team. This team works to support collaboration between procurement and all the departments procurement relies on to be effective. For this role, we are looking for someone to take ownership of all of our Product Regulatory Compliance management needs.

Proactive and thorough knowledge, research and management of laws, regulations, governing bodies and requirements for the growing catalog of products our company distributes willl be the primary responsibility of this role. This person will also be responsible for keeping up regular communication with our Legal department, category managers, web content teams, and others as needed to ensure all compliance requirements are met. This position is full-time and located in Lancaster, PA, but is hybrid-friendly for those within a 2-hour driving radius.

Clark’s procurement division, which buys products for our various distribution channels (industry leading Ecommerce platform WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment, and 11400, Inc.). In 2022, we reached $3.2B in sales from a catalog of 400K+ SKUs.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading the coordination and management of product regulatory compliance for a $3B+ company, that supports a growing collection of products spanning 6 industries – Equipment & Supplies, Furniture & Fixtures, Consumables, Disposables, Industrial and Janitorial.
• Responsible for proactively keeping up with all new and changing laws and regulations, as well as what and how it affects the products and categories. Then, leverages contacts within other departments as needed to deliver action steps to the product owners and category managers and ensure company compliance overall, in a timely manner.
• Responsible for communicating updates and impacts across our different channels, with their potentially varying needs – WebstaurantStore, The Restaurant Store, PRO, Clark National Accounts, Clark Food Service Equipment.
• Has a strong line of communication with our web department for compliance to ensure they have what they need for proper marketing, claims, resource needs.

Qualifications:

• Candidate must have 3-5+ years' experience managing product compliance for products within 1 or more of these industries – Equipment & Supplies, Furniture & Fixtures, Consumables, Disposables, Industrial & Janitorial.
• Operates with a very high level of emotional intelligence, that allows for effective coordination across internal teams, and with external organizations.
• Has previously worked with several of the below organizations or regulations (including but not limited to) – CPSC, FDA, EPA, prop 65, department of energy, CSA, FTC, state department legislation.
• Exceptional collaboration, communication and organizational skills that allow them to effectively work across different departments, positions, tools and systems, including working closely with the Legal department as needed.
• This candidate thrives in the details but is a strong dynamic communicator that can also quickly and concisely drill down to the most imperative details, to inform and update at a high level.
• The ideal candidate is passionate about learning, increasing their understanding of compliance and regulations, and is able to take that knowledge and educate the rest of the department. Will also need to weigh requests with ROI, urgency and the appropriate prioritization needs across many initiatives within a quickly growing company.
