Ready to join the team?
Major Responsibilities:
  • Operates and inspects pumping and wellhead equipment to ensure proper operation and recover maximum production. Utilizes ignition, TAP and SCADA equipment for well surveillance to optimize production and prevent spills.
  • Knows basic operation and proper maintenance of electrical panels, gas engines, testers, phase separators, water knock outs, heaters and stock tanks, and all other on-site wellhead equipment and compressors.
  • Performs routine maintenance of production equipment, including checking fluid levels of pump jacks, dump valves, meters, gauges, and other tank battery equipment. May acknowledge and respond to alarms associated with equipment as needed.
  • Ensures artificial lift systems including ESP and gas lift are working properly.
  • Detects oil, water or gas leaks, and broken seals on tank valves; may monitor work of others to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Uses proper lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ensures tank thief hatches are securely closed.
  • Completes required paperwork (e.g. gauge sheets, compressor and engine logs, and preventative maintenance logs).
  • Runs required reports and recognizes when well production is declining; decides how to fix, repair or adjust equipment to retain or recover lost production.
  • Advises water haulers when water is ready for pickup and disposal.
  • Collects, analyzes and resets malfunctions on automated wells.
  • Maintains general lease/well appearances, including lease, well, pipeline right-of-way and safety signage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor, to include special projects.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School education or equivalent certification required.
  • 1 year Production Operator, Flowback or equivalent experience. Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills required of the position.
  • A current valid vehicle operator’s license with an insurable driving record is required.
  • Willing and able to work alone at night in remote areas with minimal supervision and may be required to be available during the day.
  • Able to read and write in order to read pressure gauges and complete paperwork.
  • Basic computing skills, including use of Microsoft Office.
  • Basic understanding of how to operate hand tools such as a grease guns and wrenches, to lubricate or tighten equipment.
