Production Planner
Status: Exempt (salaried)

Position Summary
The Production Planner plays a key role in developing and coordinating product build schedules for Manufacturing Operations while also working closely with Supply Chain to ensure continuity of material supply so Plug Power can meet established production schedules. This role is critical to ensure that the business is operating to meet product delivery commitments to our customers. The Production Planner must be highly skilled at working with cross-functional departments to coordinate efforts and clear roadblocks which may interfere with the production schedule. The ideal candidate for this position should be experienced in scheduling and coordination within a technology manufacturing operation, while possessing the ability to help drive on-time delivery of quality products to customers.
Principle Accountabilities

Manages release of work orders for on-time delivery of customer orders.

Continuity of material supply to meet production demand.

Manage EDO and ECN release process into production.
Core Duties and Responsibilities

Direct coordination with Production Supervisors and Cell Team Leads.

Manage material shortages with Production and Supply Chain teams.

Maintains metrics/KPI’s for team performance and continuous improvement.

Plan and coordinate production schedules for materials and various assemblies.

Work closely with supply chain to ensure materials needed to meet production schedules are on-hand and consistent with quality specifications.

Manage the work order process from start to finish in order to meet the customer required delivery dates in the master schedule and all documentation to match for quarter closings and yearly audits.

Partner with engineering to manage deviations to the standard material requirements for a given build.

Identify, prepare, submit, and oversee Avante (ERP system) change requests and process improvements.

Introduce process improvement initiatives to Operations and other related business processes which help to drive efficiencies, reduce operating costs, and increase inventory and documentation accuracy.

Assist the production and warehouse team members in non-routine investigations of inventory issues in order to identify root causes and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Work with Production and Warehouse Managers to control materials usage, maintain inventory accuracy and ensure schedule conformance.

Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience

BS degree in business, supply chain, engineering, or other relevant field of study and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; preferred experience in a scheduling capacity for a technology product line.

ASCM certifications preferred.

Lean, Six Sigma green belt or black belt preferred.

Experience and proficiency with ERP systems; Avante experience preferred.

Microsoft Office product experience and proficiency – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.

Data mining skills with the ability to develop analytics for specific measurements.

Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere.

Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities.

Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with attention to detail a must.
