Production Support Engineer - 1st Shift

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
  • Support and develop team decision-making allowing the team itself to become dedicated to continuous improvement while meeting the customer requirements of quality and quantity.
  • Ensure optimal performance of manufacturing equipment by monitoring and adjusting controls as needed.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor process and quality ensuring a continuous flow. Uses technical training to make improvements in the process utilizing constant communication, involving team members and all production support disciplines.
  • Eliminate equipment downtime by tracking problems to their root cause and correcting them.
  • Maintain records of all equipment adjustments.
  • Make control modifications as needed to production equipment in assigned area.
  • Adapt new products to existing or new production equipment.
  • Coordinate team member training of all related tasks.
  • Act as a team floater. Maintain own certification and competence on all tasks required of the team.
  • Moderate ATP and continuous improvement meetings.
  • Assigns off line tasks such as attendance, line schedule, data entry, supplies etc.
  • Accountable for the team’s achievement of goals concerning quality and productivity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new products into mass production.
  • Provide input as needed when equipment is purchased or upgraded.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Moderate ATP and continuous improvement meetings.
  • Facilitate assignment of off-line tasks such as attendance, line schedule, data entry, supplies etc.
  • Accountable for the team’s achievement of goals concerning quality and productivity.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new products into mass production.
  • Provide input as needed when equipment is purchased or upgraded.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
  • Maintaining high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
POSITION DEMANDS:
  • 2 year electronic or related degree preferred.
  • Basic PC skills preferred.
  • Ability to learn and perform all responsibilities of the team member.
  • Good communications skills (oral and written) to effectively communicate with team members.
  • Ability to stand and maneuver around in or around equipment.
  • Intense personal commitment to communicate company policy and develop a team culture.

  • Ability to work patiently with many different people.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
  • This position is accountable directly to the line group leader and works closely with the process control team.
  • Responsible to establish personal working relationships with engineers, maintenance, laboratory, quality control, warehouse, and other manufacturing departments in order to meet team needs.
