Why this Role Exists
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Business Operations, the Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and executing primary as well as secondary research and data acquisition in support of patient and practice data initiatives. Some examples include gathering patient data from partner practices for better insight on trial upsides, compiling and normalizing large sets of data across the network, and working with different divisions to set and track metrics to measure success. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker who can evaluate data and details in specific situations and turn the data into usable insights for cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities
· Conduct data analysis across multiple areas like Finance, Operations, and Commercial.
· Create and maintain process maps for each of our analytical products, updating to reflect changes in our methodology and logic.
· Own EMR data extraction processes for practices in the network – both Profound owned extraction as well as working with 3rd party vendors who will be performing extraction and aggregation.
· Help manage and possibly maintain Profound’s data assets.
· Set, oversee, and gather KPIs across the divisions in the company to track company success.
· Transform conceptual user business and user data needs into clear, functional company requirements and tools – including assisting in the buildout of analytics dashboards.
· Work with the Commercial feasibility team on Sponsor study feasibility questionnaires.
· Attend project calls, respond to customer questions, demands, and needs.
· Support the Strategy & Operations team as needed.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Ability to manipulate large, complex data sets using a variety of software applications, including the use of relational databases – applications include SQL, SAS, R, Lookr, Sigma, Python, or other large data analytics and scripting tools.
· In-depth, expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
· Self-motivated with great attention to detail.
· Resourceful with the ability to work independently on projects.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or another relevant field.
· At least 1-3 years of experience in a research or analyst role.
· Experience producing materials for C-Suite/Executives on conclusions derived from data analysis.
· Experience in the Clinical Research or Healthcare sector.
· Understanding of data warehouse or ETL processes, especially with the ability to do some of the transformations or normalizations.
Travel Requirements
· Minimal as needed, not estimated to exceed 15%
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing and walking.
· Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
· Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
· Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
· Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and making fine discriminations in sound.
· The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
