Cisco Program Management Office (PMO) Team provides centralized oversight and support for the planning, execution, and delivery of strategic Enterprise Agreements within Cisco Federal Segment. The PMO serves as a hub of expertise and knowledge for project management best practices, tools, and methodologies.
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to work on a cross functional team that ensures effective and efficient management of programs and projects. This position will focus on establishing and maintaining consistent project management practices and providing support and guidance to project managers and teams, the PMO helps to minimize risks, optimize resources, and increase the likelihood of project success.
The successful candidate will have a unique blend of technical knowledge, government contracting experience and exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. They must be able to balance business needs, engineering support, and customer mission. Selected candidate must reside in Northern Virginia area. Residing in this territory and US Citizenship are requirements for this role based on the Federal customers you'll be supporting and business needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing project management standards, policies, and procedures that ensure consistent and effective project management practices.
- Establishing project management metrics and performance indicators to track and monitor project progress and identify potential issues and risks.
- Conducting regular project reviews to evaluate project performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitating communication and collaboration among project teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards related to contract management, including those specific to government contracts.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of project management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Providing support and guidance to PMO managers and teams, helping to ensure that they have the resources and support necessary to deliver successful projects.
- Helping to develop and maintain project schedules and performance metrics.
- Assisting in monitoring program progress and identifying potential risks and issues.
- Helping to develop and implement mitigation strategies to address project risks and issues.
- Facilitating communication between PMO, Account Team, Cisco extended team, and Government customers.
- Providing status updates and progress reports to PMO management and Government customers.
- Participating in project reviews to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborating with other functional areas of Cisco to ensure alignment and integration of project activities.
- Supporting continuous improvement efforts to enhance project management processes and tools.
Required Experience and Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, engineering, or computer science.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in a government contracting environment.
- Candidates must be willing and able to achieve Top Secret security clearance.
- Work location will be hybrid with 2-3 days per week working in Cisco’s Herndon, Virginia office.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of government contracting regulations and processes.
- A PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred, but not required.
- Strong relationship building and communication skills and the ability to work with varying levels of management.
- Exceptional team player with the ability to quickly develop and foster cross-functional relationships.
- Demonstrates ability to understand, resolve and communicate technical and business issues.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with a high level of integrity and reliability.

For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
