Job Description:
SUMMARY
Oversees the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students Program grant by ensuring students receive the assistance needed to remain focused on their studies rather than the stresses stemming from not having access to food pantries, affordable housing and transportation, access to healthcare services, child care services or technology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serves as the Budget Unit Leader for the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students Program Grant.-
Oversees the program/project staff comprised of Benefits Navigator(s) to assist students in identifying public benefits and programs at the federal, state and local level

Compiles reports to track effectiveness and efficiency of program

Constructs and chairs a committee of resource providers to ensure students have access to the services and resources needed to accel in their field of study

Investigates areas of opportunity within program and strives to implement industry best practices

Fosters a welcoming and supportive environment that destigmatizes asking for help and assistance is given without judgement
-
Partners with Benefits Navigators, faculty, staff and other community stakeholders to refine the program practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Associate’s degree in a related field
-
Significant related experience may substitute for education
-
Prior experience developing and monitoring grant programs
-
Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing and monitoring a business area’s budget

Demonstrated experience leading and guiding the work of others

Demonstrated ability in working with people on sensitive and highly personal information

PERFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Public Administration, or a related field

Five years of relevant work experience and demonstrated success in community relations and project management
