Programmer Analyst

Are you an experienced Programmer Analyst with a strong background in the banking or credit union industry? Do you possess a deep understanding of financial systems and a passion for developing innovative solutions? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our dynamic team as a Programmer Analyst at SCE Credit Union.

At SCE FCU, we strive to provide exceptional financial services to our members, and technology plays a pivotal role in achieving this goal. As a Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our critical software applications while ensuring they align with our business needs and industry best practices. Focused on digital solutions and the member experience, this position will research, develop, code, test, and maintain programs and interfaces for the credit union core and third-party systems and will also create forms, letters and reports as requested to enhance system capabilities.

Note: The salary range posted for this position is based on the candidate residing in California. The range may be adjusted for candidates in other states based on their local compensation market.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including department leaders, project managers, and IT professionals, to gather requirements and design robust solutions.
  • Develop and maintain software applications and systems in accordance with established coding standards and best practices.
  • Perform thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
  • Conduct system analysis and recommend enhancements or modifications to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of existing applications.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions and drive continuous improvement.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess strong multi-tasking, customer service and communication skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in programming or report writing.
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience
  • Previous Symitar Episys experience required including PowerOn (Rep Gen) programming and PowerFrame Documents.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, .NET, jQuery/JavaScript, JSON, and REST are required.
  • Understanding of relational databases and SQL is preferred.

Other Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient skills navigating a PC and internet browser. The individual must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel). The individual must have a working knowledge of smart phones and using apps.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with internal team members and outside vendors can be of a sensitive nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and possess the ability to work independently to manage and follow-up on assigned tasks.
  • Must be a self-directed individual with a high degree of analytic ability and be flexible in adapting to the needs of a growing organization.
  • Strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and think creatively.

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel computer equipment; talk and hear.

  • Must be able to regularly perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
