- (3247721)GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The Helmer Informatics Lab, affiliated with the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, is seeking a Programmer with a bachelor’s degree in physics, chemistry, neuroscience, cognitive science, mathematics, computer science or related field, for a full-time position building data management infrastructure and tools to support a wide variety of primarily imaging-based medical and scientific studies. The programmer will be working with a talented multidisciplinary team of programmers, web developers, and data curators. This position requires demonstrated competency in coding, maturity, attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. The successful applicant must be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects.
The projects served by these services all focus on knowledge discovery in the medical domain, from discovering new biomarkers to the testing of new interventions. These projects all have a public web presence and these portals serve both to make informational content available to the public as well as act as a front end for a web-based infrastructure for the management, movement, curation, and sharing of a large, heterogeneous data sets. The goal of several of these projects is to provide data to the larger scientific community so that the data may be reused, and new knowledge generated.

Required: Bachelor's Degree
Field of Study/Additional Specialized Training: Physics and other physical sciences, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, or related field; certification in Python programming of 3 years of related experience is required.

Required: One year of experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Day to day operations are performed at the Charlestown Navy Yard in an office setting.
