Project Coordinator

Project Overview:

Northern Trust Real Estate acts as primary trustee, co-trustee or fiduciary for commercial and residential assets managed on behalf of, and held in trust for the benefit of family trust estates and individual owners. The NT insurance group arranges blanket insurance policies and reviews/verifies the adequacy of external insurance policy coverage for the portfolio. The contractor will build a database to track the renewal dates for these policies, input policy details onto a spreadsheet and collaborate with NT asset managers to ensure premiums are paid pursuant to policy terms.

Contractor’s Role:

Contractor will engage with partners from Northern Trust Real Estate practice to sort invoices, create an insurance policy renewal repository in excel, verify premium payment status and follow up with asset managers, insurers and brokers to process and remit payments as needed. Contractor will use standard Microsoft applications along with two software applications (Yardi & Crane) to communicate with asset managers and update payment status for the NT real estate portfolio

Experience Level:

Level 2-[mid- 3-7+ years overall experience] Level 2

Qualifications (Must Have’s):

• Microsoft excel
• Nice to Haves: [Skills that would be a plus, but are not mandatory for the role]

Insurance knowledge a plus, familiarity with applications Yardi and Crane nice to have but not necessary.

• Open mail
• Sort invoices by renewal date
• Input insurance details into a spreadsheet for tracking, monitoring.
• Maintain spreadsheet and update as needed to reflect dispositions and acquisitions
• Process insurance payments in software applications and direct invoices to appropriate asset manager for approval
• Communicate with external insurers, brokers and asset managers to verify policy terms are current (i.e premiums are paid) and process payments for approval as required
