Successful candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based, Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), mandated by 49 CFR Part 1542, and will be required to qualify for and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) credential with Airfield Non-Movement Area Driving and Escort Privileges

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Program Manager within JFK’s Project Management Unit, the selected candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects of varying complexities at JFK’s various facilities. The Project Manager will manage the scoping and authorization process for all assigned projects, including the justification, planning and study of initial alternatives.

Duties will include:

  • Establishing project schedules and budgets
  • Managing project planning, design, construction and close-out efforts
  • Coordinating the efforts of multiple staff departments as required
  • Ensuring all required permits or agreements with regulatory authorities are secured
  • Ensuring the timely completion of projects within scope, schedule and budget

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project management, Engineering LEA, or as a senior level designer of complex infrastructure projects
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Desired

The ideal candidate will present the following profile:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable
  • Professional Engineer or Registered Architect license in New York or New Jersey is desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, engineering design, architecture, and/or construction fields including establishment of project plans, setting priorities, and incorporating facility operations and security requirements into project plans
  • Demonstrated knowledge of physical plants/assets, analysis of problem, obtaining the necessary resources from the various stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles, methods and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, estimating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and/or inspecting costs, work, and contractor and consultant performance
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and influencing diverse work groups and project teams
  • Demonstrated customer service, decision-making, and problem solving
  • Demonstrated knowledge of capital planning and assessment, cost-benefit and life cycle cost analyses, project planning and development, and risk management protocols
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and prioritize assignments
