The Project Manager, Steel Sales is responsible for establishing a standalone organization within the steel facility, which takes care of all aspects of the refractory domain in the long term. This includes creating order schedules, close cooperation with customers to create the economically best possible mix for both sides. Objective is to establish a long-term customer loyalty, secure profitability by taking over additional aggregates, introducing products with an acceptable margin, positive impact on capacity utilization.

Project Manager, Steel Sales tasks will include:

  • Accountable for the continuous recording of operational parameters. An example: the ladle was in circulation for how long, how many heats were produced, what irregularities have occurred, etc. At the end of each month a report about the material used and related monthly costs has to be compiled.
  • Regularly attend customer meetings which range in topics such as product performance, aggregate, health & safety matters and product planning.
  • Along with the Marketing & Sales Dept, will carry out trials with new material in close cooperation with the customer and will also optimize the application concepts in the best possible way.
  • Clear understanding of the project profitability and support towards ensuring products are implemented which not only perform to customer satisfaction, but also return a product margin.
  • Assist in product and process troubleshooting, maintaining, servicing and operating on-site refractory equipment.
  • Responsible for the logistic of all refractory related material.
  • Responsible for the overall management of all orders, inventory and stock keeping.
  • Project Manager is accountable for ensuring all RHIM site staff are wearing the correct PPE and that all customer safety requirements are being met.
  • Responsible for ensuring all visiting personnel adhere to the customer safety requirements.
  • Responsible for JSA, and regular monitoring of the work area to ensure all potential hazards are addressed.
  • Daily interaction with the appropriate division manager of the steel plant
  • Act as the main point of contact to the customer representing RHI Magnesita.
  • Accountable for monthly product order planning and managing a rolling forecast of product
  • Responsible for daily routine of materials receiving, examining/inspection.
  • Provide regular reporting to Management on estimated usage vs. forecast production.
  • Tracking of daily steel production.

About you

Do you have:

  • 2-5 years of Commercial industrial experience
  • 2-5 years of experience preferably steel or refractories.
