As the Controller at Promise, you will step into a pivotal financial management role. You will lead crucial accounting operations including revenue recognition, AR, AP, payroll, and financial reporting. This role not only supports the financial backbone of the company but also drives the establishment of fiscal benchmarks and controls in coordination with the CFO. Your strategic and operational impact will help steer Promise through our scaling efforts, navigating the complexities of a growing SaaS environment in the Series B stage and beyond.
Take charge of comprehensive accounting activities including month-end close processes, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
In collaboration with the CFO, develop and maintain financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and monitoring programs, delivering critical financial insights that influence company strategy.
Prepare for and manage annual financial audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Standardize accounting policies and procedures across the organization to enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Implement and reinforce internal financial controls and guidelines to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
Proven experience in accounting roles within a SaaS environment, ideally at a senior level in a Series B or larger startup.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) credentials are preferred.
Strong capabilities in using financial software and platforms, with a particular proficiency in Google Sheets.
Ability to conceptualize and implement financial strategies and solutions that align with the company's growth and operational goals.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and implementation of financial policies and strategies.
