Prometheus is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our accounting team as a Property Accountant. The Property Accountant performs real estate accounting duties for operating and development properties including but not limited to maintenance and analysis of accounting records; preparing monthly financial reports and cash flow projections and other reports as required by management or owners.
- Financial and Reporting - Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and owner/lender property management reports within established deadlines; Coordinate with Property Management in final review of Annual Budgets; Review the property financial statements and related supporting documents to ensure that the financial statements are correct and in conformity with GAAP; Prepare property level loan compliance reports; Provide financial assumptions for the budget model.
- Property Accounting - Maintain accounting records for residential and commercial properties including recording journal entries, preparing financial statements, variance review and bank reconciliation. Review annual property budgets and provide cash flow projections.
- Audit/Tax/& Other Responsibilities –Provide quarterly and year-end tax projection for assigned properties. Prepare loan and various wire transfer requests in a timely fashion; Prepare quarterly and annual loan debt compliance package; Prepare bank reconciliations and ensure that all bank reconciling items are resolved.
The Property Accountant must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Minimum 1-3 years real estate accounting experience required using property management and job cost software.
- Strong working knowledge of issues, procedures and practices associated with property management, real estate, construction and partnership accounting
- Must possess basic computational skills. Must have the ability to compute rate, discounts, interest, and commissions. Must be able to prepare and analyze data figures and transcriptions generated by a computer
- Computer proficient in Windows, MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, OneSite; Hands-on experience with property management / job cost accounting system such as Sage, OneSite or Yardi preferred.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation
- Pay Range: $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year
