About the Role

The Proposal Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and editing proposals that are compliant with RFP
requirements. They help to incorporate proper strategic direction and captivating storylines that wins and
retains business. This role sits as part of the Proposals Management team, working collaboratively with various
stakeholders to ensure success with all proposals.
This role is a full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday during typical office hours. There will be occasional
travel required for events, meetings and workshops. Day-to-day, this role can be performed remotely.


Role Responsibilities
  • Working with Business Development teams to understand the specific client needs and challenges, and
interpret that knowledge clearly in proposals.
  • Proactively engaging the right people to contribute to the service offering and solution creation .
  • Reading RFPs, RFIs and technical questionnaires to determine necessary response requirements.
  • Developing project planning documents and timelines to ensure timely completion of proposal
requirements.
  • Coordinating and participating in internal proposal review processes.
  • Writing compelling proposals that differentiate PSI, enabling us to win new clients and retain existing
clients
  • Developing a visually compelling story with conceptual images, process flowcharts, diagrams, and other
graphics needed to support narrative content.
  • Preparing final proposal deliverables and supporting materials for electronic and hardcopy proposals
  • Applying knowledge of our competitors and marketplace to ensure we keep our proposals relevant and
well-positioned.
  • Continual knowledge building on the competitive landscape to include analysis of competitor proposals
and external research.
  • Sharing competitive analysis and research findings with internal stakeholders through reports and debriefs
  • Using business insight and creative flair to create focused and persuasive proposals with compelling
content and winning messages.
  • Collaborating with Proposal Manger to establish proposal structure and value messaging, to tailor a
bespoke solution.
  • Overseeing style, consistency, grammar, and syntax of documents, adhering to practical implementation
of all elements of the PSI brand.
  • Proofreading and sense-checking proposal content.
  • Working closely with all colleagues to ensure we deliver value through consistent messages.
  • Track proposals submitted gathering status, feedback and timescales to inform the pipeline.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism or other. An extensive history in
proposal or grant writing may be a sufficient equivalent.
  • Experience writing proposals or other corporate materials with compelling copy and messages.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with the ability to quickly shift tasks and prioritize
appropriately.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Strong desire to understand a complex business and become a knowledge expert.
  • Comfortable communicating effectively (written and verbally) with a high level of professionalism across
the corporate spectrum
  • Comfort working within an established proposal development process including color team reviews.
  • Able to work independently and as member of a team
  • Strong proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Word required. General proficiency with other Microsoft
Office 365 apps, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proficiency with proposal management tools desirable.
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat strongly recommended. Proficiency with other Adobe Creative Suite
apps,like Photoshop and InDesign, desirable.
