Data Analyst - Advertising & Partnerships

In 2016, we founded Provi as an innovative ordering solution aimed at disrupting the $240 billion alcohol industry. We sought to move beyond the constant chaos of texts, paper stacks, missed phone calls, and lost communication that have dominated the purchasing workflow between buyers and distributors for decades.

Today, Provi is better than ever. We’ve created a best-in-class ordering solution that better connects beverage alcohol professionals across 35 states and growing, with more than 750,000 product listings that make up the most expansive and trusted database of U.S. distributor portfolios.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Data Analyst to join our team. This role involves supporting our Sales and Account Management teams through building and maintaining data and reporting infrastructure, with a focus on client advertising performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Set Creation: Build comprehensive data sets using both internal and external sources to empower users to make informed decisions, understand business dynamics, and deliver value for clients.
  • Dashboard and Visualization: Create and maintain internal and external dashboards and visualizations to enable account teams and clients to access and analyze key performance metrics.
  • Support Account Teams: Assist with business and technical needs, including investigating data anomalies, fixing queries, and performing deep-dive analyses on ad delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with stakeholders across Account Management, Sales, Analytics, Ad Operations, Finance, IT, and Engineering to ensure high-quality data and maintainable business processes.
  • Research and Insights: Provide research and insights on operational, product, and platform data to inform strategic decision-making and resolve tactical questions. Over time, become an expert in the structure and content of our advertising data and systems.

Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Strong SQL and data manipulation skills with knowledge of database tables, entity-relationships, and complex queries. Ability to solve complex data challenges efficiently.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience working with digital advertising data. Knowledge of core metrics such as Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPM, ROAS, and attribution.
  • Data Visualization: Proficient in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Domo, etc.) and familiar with advanced features (parameters, level-of-detail expressions). Experience with other tools like Matplotlib or Plotly is a plus.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate analysis and dashboard usage to a range of stakeholders using various modes of communication, with a good intuition for delivering findings appropriately.
  • Education: Undergraduate degree, preferably in a quantitative field.
  • Analytical Language: Proficiency in at least one analytical language (Python preferred, MATLAB, R, SAS).
  • Additional Skills: Knowledge of Salesforce, Git, CLI, and DBT is preferred. Knowledge of the alcoholic beverage industry is a bonus.
