Psychiatric Technician

Psychiatric Technicians are encouraged to consider an available full-time position with Liberty Healthcare’s mental health program at the West Valley Detention Center.

This is a specialized forensic mental health program which provides high quality psychiatric assessment and stabilization to adults who are justice involved and experiencing mental illness.

In this key role, you will help people receive vital services and achieve improved mental health.

You will have an opportunity to work with and experienced, talented and dedicated team of professionals – while gaining valuable experience and skills.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing and maintaining positive therapeutic relationships with patients
  • Promoting a positive therapeutic milieu
  • Encouraging patients to take advantage of the program’s available mental health services
  • Monitoring patient behaviors and administering appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Facilitating psycho-educational groups on various topics such as self-esteem, anger management and impulse control
  • Actively participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborating with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Therapists, Nurses and security staff
  • Documenting patient’s progress and interventions in medical records

This position will require you to work onsite Monday through Friday during daytime hours at the West Valley Detention Facility – a San Bernardino County jail located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

As a Psychiatric Technician and full-time employee of Liberty Healthcare, you can expect:

  • Starting hourly pay between $30.00 and $36.00 (depending on qualification)
