Public Health Crew

This is a 675 hour term of service. Members are motivated leaders, ages 18-30 who will serve in a variety of community and public health capacities. Corpsmembers will provide mental health support and a brief mentorship program that pairs teenagers (13-17) with young adult mentors (18-30), utilizing project AMP programing. Members may be placed at the following locations: Taos High School, Vista Grande High School, Espanola Valley High School. Corpsmembers will receive trainings and participate in community efforts to reduce substance misuse among youth in Northern New Mexico communities. All activities aim to improve overall community health and awareness and may include developing health outreach initiatives, assisting community members with enrollment in public assistance programs, data collection and YRS survey collection, as well as curriculum and media/marketing development.
