Summary:

In this role, the Public Relations Intern will support the team in proactive PR efforts, including writing, award submissions, coverage tracking, product reviews, maintaining databases, media research, team coordination, and more. This position reports to the Sr. Manager of PR. This role is temporary with potential to become a longer-term role based on performance and business need.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Support Sr. PR Manager in proactive projects
• Help outline, draft, edit, and proofread press materials, including press releases, award submissions, talk tracks, and more
• Work with PR agency to develop briefing materials to support media interviews
• Maintain internal documents such as awards trackers, review trackers, coverage trackers, and more
• Monitor news, identify relevant industry news and trends, and draft coverage recaps for internal team
• Support Sr. PR Manager in triaging rapid response opportunities to the internal team
• Maintain Vivint’s awards program and manage submissions
• Support product reviews program
• Assist with meeting scheduling
• Shadow PR team, attend meetings, compile messaging, and assist with creative strategy

Required Skills, Experience & Education:

• Strong writing skills with knowledge of AP format
• Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills with a strategic and critical point of view
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
• Undergrad degree or relevant expertise and education in public relations, communications, marketing or related field
• PR and media relations experience strongly preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
