As one of the largest spot buying agencies in the country, we have over 350 team members across the United States. Founded in 1977 in Birmingham, Alabama, we are also partners with Leo Burnett Detroit and a member of the Publicis Worldwide global network.In this role, under the supervision of a Media Buyer, you will negotiate, purchase, and monitor advertising space and airtime on behalf of clients. Your objective will be to reach the highest number of people in the target audience at the lowest possible costs while adhering to company and industry standards. You will work in a dynamic environment that values innovation and teamwork, allowing you to grow your skills and advance your career in media buying.Skills• 1-3 years of experience in a media planning/buying role (e.g., Media Assistant)• Experience evaluating and purchasing local broadcast schedules• Excellent negotiating skills or a willingness to develop this skill• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Strong organizational skills• Ability to work under pressure• Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply research data• Self-motivated and self-directed• Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with vendors and teammates• Experience with media buying and research software (e.g., Nielsen, Scarborough, Prime Lingo, AdViews, SQAD, SRDS)• Intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)Responsibilities• Estimate, negotiate, and purchase all media including spot TV, radio, print, outdoor, and digital• Coordinate with Traffic to ensure all confirmed buys are uploaded in a timely manner• Research, evaluate, and negotiate Makegoods promptly• Ensure all buys are posted on Media systems by quarterly deadlines• Reconcile monthly invoicing for all clients, ensuring schedules ran as ordered• Provide direction to Media Assistants and assist with their development toward the Junior Buyer positionQualifications• 1-3 years of experience in a media planning/buying role• Experience evaluating and purchasing local broadcast schedules• Excellent negotiating skills or willingness to learn• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Strong organizational skills• Ability to work under pressure• Self-motivated and self-directedEducation Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferredEducation Requirements Credential Category• Bachelor’s degree preferredExperience Requirements• 1-3 years of relevant experience in media buying or planning• Experience with media buying and research softwareWhy work in Birmingham, ALBirmingham offers a rich blend of history, culture, and Southern hospitality.
