Publishing Coordinator/Associate - Marysue Rucci Books

Marysue Rucci Books is looking for a Publishing Coordinator/Associate to provide administrative, editorial, and social media support for the imprint, and reporting to the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating manuscripts, communicating with bestselling and highly acclaimed authors and agents, drafting copy and marketing material, liaising with all areas of the publishing house including contracts, ad/promo, art, production, design, subsidiary rights, and more. In addition this candidate will be responsible for generating social media posts for the imprint’s feeds.

Candidate should be highly creative and organized and passionate about fiction and narrative nonfiction, including upmarket book club fiction; literary fiction; suspense fiction; memoir; and feminist-oriented titles. The candidate must be able to work independently and have a keen sense of detail and adherence to deadlines. Candidate should have strong editorial acumen, excellent communication and writing skills; a flair for social media posts; and Microsoft Office familiarity including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The candidate should have at least 1-2 years experience in book publishing. The role has opportunity for independent editorial acquisitions depending on the candidate and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The annual salary for this position is $54,000.00 - $60,000.00

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
