Purchasing Manager (Individual Contributor)

The Purchasing Manager would be managing and leading supplier tactical sourcing aspects for a range of suppliers, while ensuring best service levels for our operations. The role has a wide-ranging scope requiring solid procurement knowledge. Proven track record of ability to apply specialist knowledge to drive and resolve issues in creative and effective ways including driving cross-functional initiatives while leveraging processes, best practices and other requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures efficient tactical end-to-end sourcing processes and execution (purchase order management, invoice resolution, daily demand, and inventory review)
• Develops a material replenishment system with minimum levels and reordering points based on usages
• Develops and maintains daily communications with suppliers proactively anticipating supply constraints while focused on resolution of issues
• Manages material procurement across various business platforms
• Reviews quotes from suppliers and maintains accurate pricing in systems
• Supports and provides critical information into business reviews with key suppliers
• Manages supplier’s performance, including the management of all relevant performance indicators
• Identifies, assesses, and establishes new supply sources supporting the business’s risk management strategy
• Understands key suppliers spend, price trends, and cost drivers for the business
• Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
• Manages discontinued materials accordingly to avoid obsolescence
• Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality related issues, including non-conformance and customer complaints

• Desired experience with pressure sensitive rollstock, sound understanding of key business drivers and suppliers in this industry
• Thorough knowledge of procurement, vendor relations, and inventory management processes and practices
• Strong working knowledge of SAP ERP/MRP systems, MS Office, and requisition software
• Sense of urgency and proven hands-on problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication (including presentations), analytical skills along with strong interpersonal, organization skills and attention to details
• Some experience of having driven cost saving initiatives
• Exposure to leading relationships and negotiations with suppliers is desired
• Committed to continuous improvement, and comfortable with challenging the status-quo
• Solid presentation skills at all levels

Experience and Education:

• 4 years' of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combined experience and education required
