This particular role is for Qantas Hotels & Holidays.
Senior Software Engineers at Qantas are responsible for guiding and leading feature development of the software that powers our business unit. They bring experience to both code and mentor other technical team members to deliver high-quality, well-designed software, using their depth and breadth of experience to help guide the team with a strong sense of pragmatism: knowing how much design work is enough, how much testing is enough, to maximise team efficiency. They will spot code design problems early and lead the work to address them.
What you’ll bring to the role:
5+ years of experience as a professional software engineer
Proficiency in Clojure
History of solving challenging technical problems, from design to implementation
High quality coding standards, following industry best practices
Ability to handle ambiguous, open-ended problems
Ability to interface and collaborate with business stakeholders, as well as engineering staff
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for sharing knowledge with others
Additional familiarity with:
AWS
Databases (Postgres, DynamoDB, Redis)
Message queues and streams (SQS, Kinesis)
Microservice architecture
Docker
BuildKite
GitHub Actions
