Reporting to the Vice President, Software Engineering the Quality and Reliability Champion is an expert responsible for creating strategy and driving execution in a technology organization. This expert will enhance and reimagine processes in software quality and reliability as it pertains to value stream alignment. This expert will define processes, metrics and tools that will be utilized to improve quality and reliability.

Bachelors Degree in Software or Computing Engineering

15+ years of relevant industry experience

Experience in QA and Software Development in a large product organization

5+ years of domain expertise in healthcare – highly desired

You will be:

Planning, implementing and advancing the quality standards and processes throughout the technology organization, driving consistency as well as improvement in quality results

Driving enhancements that result in higher effectiveness of quality testing and higher quality products as measured by internally and externally found defects and overall feature health assessments for the products
-
Leading and helping the value streams use data to see trends and improve processes
-
Working cross functionally with product management, development, QA, operations, implementations, and sales in order to analyze and implement processes related to quality
-
Defining scope of process including every step of the SDLC that has bearing on quality, from the “definition of ready” through “definition of done” as well as production tickets/problems
-
Partnering with the Engineering Excellence team on making sure that the process updates for quality are consistent with the overall SDLC processes
-
Measuring the efficiency of quality processes and drives process and tools adoption in order to improve efficiency. For example, this may result in more automation to reduce test cycle time, earlier testing to reduce overall cycle time, better data sets used for testing to find problems earlier, development standards for logging and simulation

Using value stream mapping and works cross functionally with all the value streams on their specific areas of opportunity

Developing tools or plans to implement new technology that improves product reliability as well as quality of the product

Facilitating the change to the new technologies, processes, or tools with all the impacted teams
-
Working with the product team on processes and consistent determination of SLOs, working with the development teams on creating logging, reliability dashboards and alerts, and creating a closed loop process with cross functional value stream teams so that they are monitoring the results and taking corrective actions as necessary

Running a community of practice with all the QA managers in the organization in order to ensure training and process adoption

Maintaining strong relationships with all the Value Stream Owners (product and technology) as well as with the Operations Center
-
Influencing leadership of all of these teams in order to drive change management and adoption of new processes
