Quality Assurance Manager

Latch is an inventive SAAS company that makes spaces better places to live, work and visit. Latch was founded in 2014 and went public in June 2021, since then we have been growing rapidly with more than 3 out of 10 new apartments in US being built with Latch. With the introduction of LatchOS (a full-building operating system of software, products, and services designed to make every building better) and an innovative roadmap, we intend to bring cutting edge technology to property management.

Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, detail oriented Quality Assurance Manager who has demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and complex software build and development environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Build a technically strong QA team to drive end-to-end product testing
  • Lead the QA team to develop and execute the large set of end-to-end test cases arising from the combination of products, SW releases, branches/versions etc.
  • Work closely with product management, Software/Hardware engineering, deployment, Ops and other cross functional teams.
  • Build remotely manageable, robust test infrastructure for validating all Latch products and interoperable 3P devices
  • Interfacing with Product teams to ensure requirements for testing are clearly outlines, use cases are well defined and KPI expectation for the product are well set.
  • Partner with the field teams to build tier-II technical customer support capability for all products
  • Use the learning from field defects to improve internal testing and reduce field defects over time
  • Define and implement QA processes like release criteria/scheduling, KPIs, CI/CD, release retro etc. for Latch products

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience or Master degree and 7+ years experience in software quality assurance
  • Experience as a manager leading teams of 5 to 10 QAEs and SDETs, hiring and mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience in owning end-to-end product testing involving HW, Firmware, Apps and Cloud services for IOT devices
  • Strong networking fundamentals and deep understanding of wireless protocols (BT/BLE, Zigbee and Wifi)
  • Strong QA fundamentals in writing test plans and test strategy based on product requirements and feature specifications
  • Hands-on experience working with Linux, MacOS and Android development/debugging tools and environments
  • Experience implementing QA best practices like nightly regression, test gates, defect metrics, automation etc.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills with attention to detail and ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams and using time-zone difference to advantage
