Quality Assurance Quality Systems Quality Systems Supervisor Manager
I. Objective of The Position:
- Monitors/Tracks all production quality checks and product scoring
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal/external customers
- Work in a team environment
- Conducts production/sanitation audits
- Investigates quality issues and customer complaints
- Supports BRC program by managing the internal audit program
- Support in maintaining all Federal, State and Local Food Safety Compliance
- Supports audits – Customer, 3rd party, and regulatory
- Supervises the Quality Assurance Technicians (minimum of 3) on their day to day activities
- Develop, mentor, and train the QA Techs in regards to Food Safety, Quality, and Critical Thinking.
- Conducts new hire training on plant GMP's and Food Safety Policies
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the Quality Systems Manager
- Support other departments when necessary
II. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience equivalent to:
Education/Certification:
Must have Bachelor's degree in food science, chemistry, microbiology, or related field of science from an accredited college or university
Experience:
4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in food production industry, with an understanding of Food Safety & Quality Management (BRC, FSSC, GFSI), and Food regulations. 3 to 5 years in a supervisory role with direct reports.
Training/Other Knowledge of GMP, HACCP/HARPC, SOP, GFSI, SPC, Pest Control and Bakery operation preferred.
Qualifications and Skill:
- Supervise and motivate associates in a team-based environment and interact effectively with associates at all organizational levels
- Interpret QA Anomalies and irregularities and identify appropriate solutions
- Conduct performance evaluation of direct reports
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
- Read and process written information with a high degree of accuracy
- Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
- Good communication skills (both written and oral).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Must possess the highest possible standard of ethics
- Demonstrate good organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, able to meet deadlines.
- Take initiatives and be self-motivated; looking for opportunities to improve Quality & Food Safety system.
- Use systematic methods to collect facts and make decisions.
