Quality Engineer

Lutron has an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer in our Austin, TX facility. In this position, you would be a key part of the plant leadership team. A successful Quality Engineer will be a technical leader with a passion for excellence and a strong sense of ownership who will relentlessly drive the quality agenda and act as Lutron’s quality ambassador in the facility.
You will gain a broad exposure to Lutron products and technologies, as you learn more about the product manufacturing and quality side of our business. You will grow your leadership and problem-solving skills, as you employ creative approaches in unexpected situations in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality and continuous improvement projects and drive to closure in a systematic manner
• Conduct root cause analysis through the inspection of manufacturing defects, data analysis, and other techniques
• Provide leadership and supervision to quality team members through effective communication while demonstrating integrity and good judgement
• Provide a deep subject matter expertise to scrutinize manufacturing issues
• Clearly communicate quality issues and report and analyze quality data
• Conduct external and internal audits
• Assist production and quality on difficult processes and/or units with multiple failures
• Assist with product development and improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, or related field
• Minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.0
• 5+ years of work experience in engineering, operations, or quality
• 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing setting
• Ability to troubleshoot electronic manufacturing issues preferred
• Team leadership and supervision experience
