Quality Manager

Overview:
The Quality Manager manages all Quality Control department activities, provides Q.C. Engineering services to Production Engineering and serves as the Management Representative for ISO/TS 16949 compliance audits. The incumbent interacts with people at all levels within the company as well as with external contacts including auditors.

The incumbent must have strong human relations skills, strong oral and written communications skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively supervise subordinates and foster teamwork. S/he must demonstrate the ability to make good decisions under pressure, to determine when, where and how to take decisive action and to know what course to take when faced with complex issues.

The incumbent must be customer-focused, results-driven and be able to analyze quality data and make recommendations for improvement of the Quality system. S/he must have experience influencing others and driving change in organizations for continuous improvement efforts. Must have extensive technical production knowledge and as such, must have an engineering background and education, as well as substantial training and competency in quality control techniques.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage all Quality Control activities that assure that outgoing product and packaging quality, purchased material quality, product safety, performance and field service follow-up comply with established specifications and standards to meet the needs and expectations of customers.
  • Provide Q.C. Engineering services to Production Engineering by performing routine process control checks, conducting process capability studies, coordinating new product specification (blueprint) reviews and, in general, provide needed information to assist in effecting process improvement and consistency between process capabilities and product specifications.
  • Design, develop and implement total plant quality systems to ensure consistency with customer requirements and division quality policies.
  • Ensure that a quality system is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with quality standards and communicate the status of the quality system to upper management to ensure management has a clear picture of the performance of the plant quality system in order to enact changes needed for success on a timely basis.
  • Address quality requirements (e.g. selection of special characteristics, setting quality objectives, training, corrective action, product design and development) in internal functions/meetings to best represent the needs of the customer and act as an advocate on behalf of the customer.
Qualifications:
  • English
  • Bachelors Degree Engineering
  • Related Field
  • 5 years minimum in Quality Management or equivalent experience
