Webasto is seeking highly motivated candidates that take pride in their work and have a strong sense of attention to detail as a Quality Technician at our manufacturing facility in Plymouth, MI. In this role you will be responsible for daily business within Quality by providing technical and administrative support related to suppliers, customers or involved areas within the company such as Production or SCM. This may include ensuring that product and process Quality targets are met. Additionally it ensures that in-process Quality checks are performed according to control plans, checking instructions and documents; and also escalates any actual and potential "not okay" findings according to the defined escalation procedures.

Compensation

$20.75 per hour (+shift differential for Night Crew)

$0.50 per hour shift differential for Night Crew

What you will do – Essential Responsibilities

  • Work associated with obtaining foods and services for all types of business processes.
  • Finished goods demand inventory planning, production planning and controlling to achieve targeted quality wastage and inventory levels.
  • Follow all established and known safety guidelines and wear all required PPE.
  • Read, understand, and follow Control Plans/Process Sheets/Work Instructional which will identify process and what to do when problems occur.
  • Identify parts and part numbers from cells and lines to make sure what they pull from the supermarket matches the right part number of the location they are filling.
  • Perform 5-S activates as required.
  • Maintain all established quantity levels and efficiencies.
  • Defining and specifying activities, processes, and standards to fulfill the quality requirements for a service or manufactured material, component or product.
  • Auditing, monitoring and determining the quality of processes or outputs, either against defined internal and/or regulatory standards.
  • Product integrity testing, coloring, fitting and pattern and wet processing to ensure orders are in compliance with corporate/customers' quality requirements.
  • Reporting on process deviations and defect.

When you will work

Night Crew

  • Additional $0.50 per hour shift differential
  • Monday - Friday, 6:00 pm - 4:30am (+required daily OT and/or OT on Saturday or Sunday)

The minimum requirements you will need

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • General knowledge of quality systems and identification of defects recommended
  • The ability to respond to input from multiple cross-functional departments and personnel
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Quantitative and analytical skills
  • One to two years' experience in a Quality related field such as inspection
