At Quilter, we are helping electrical engineers save time and accomplish more by automating the tedious and time-consuming task of designing circuit boards. Our team is composed of experts in electrical engineering, ML/AI, and software development leveraging (and inventing) novel techniques to solve the decades-old problem of automating circuit board design.
Created in 2021, Quilter has been fully remote from the start with team members distributed throughout the US and an unofficial "headquarters" in Los Angeles, CA. No matter where we come from, we're united by a common vision for the future and a core set of values we think will get us there:
Focus on the mission
Demonstrate grit
Never stop learning
Pursue excellence
Quilter is hiring a Senior Electromagnetics Simulation Engineer to join our team.
Quilter must learn physics in order to succeed in it's mission to automate PCB layout. Electromagnetics is the most important set of laws that apply to PCB design - capturing signal integrity, cross talk, radiated emissions and susceptibility, current density (and therefore heating), etc.
We're looking for an experienced Electromagnetics Simulation Engineer who will be responsible for leading our investments in our physics simulation capabilities to help improve the quality of Quilter's circuit board designs.
Degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering
Experience with Maxwell Equation solvers (FEM, FDTD, MoM, Quasi Static Approximations, Laplace Equation, etc)
Experience with Python, C++, CUDA and implementation of such simulations in a high performance compute environment
Experience validating simulation results against real measurements.
As a simulation engineer at Quilter, you will be responsible for:
Evaluating commercial, open source and proprietary simulation solutions
Integrating solvers into Quilter's engine to produce reports that demonstrate Quilter's performance against key physical parameters
Using your simulation results to inform Quilter's neural networks (training them to create better designs)
Comparing the results of your simulations against real world measurements with real hardware
Please note: We are an equal opportunity employer and currently a remote-only company. At this time, we are focused on hiring primarily within the US, with occasional exception to accommodate exceptional talent.
Interesting and challenging work
Competitive salary and equity benefits
Remote work with no commute
Health, dental, and vision insurance
Regular team events and offsites (~2x / year)
Unlimited paid time off
Paid parental leave
