About the Team:


As the Social Media Senior Manager, you will be a key part of Quizlet Marketing. Quizlet’s Marketing team plays a pivotal role in conveying Quizlet’s value proposition to students and teachers, with the ultimate goal of elevating brand awareness, fostering user engagement, and driving growth in subscriptions and ads revenue.

We’re looking for a Social Media Senior Manager who is an expert in their craft and has successfully demonstrated their ability to build two-way relationships with key audiences through sharp strategies and relatable, witty and authentic content. Our goal? Be one of the most beloved brands on the Internet by Gen Z and beyond.


As the head of Quizlet’s social media team, you will work with a small team of creators to help shape our global social media strategy, helping maintain brand love in the U.S. and introduce students globally to Quizlet through humorous and authentic content that engages Gen Z students and their teachers. You will build and execute social strategies that move the needle in clear and measurable ways while also pushing us as a brand to think bigger and bolder in how we achieve those results. We’re looking for someone who has created unique social content – sometimes humorous, sometimes heartfelt – that has successfully engaged your target audiences and that you’re proud of. Beyond that, you also know how to manage teams to be able to do the same.

This is a hybrid role based out of our New York office. 


In this role, you will:
  • Build and execute a social media strategy (inclusive of organic, paid and Influencer) that builds brand awareness, love, and loyalty
  • Develop and implement creative social media strategies to build engagement and reach on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn 
  • Drive the vision and long-term growth of Quizlet’s social media presence internationally, ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice
  • Act as the face of Quizlet on social media to both teachers and students
  • Not just set the strategy, you’ll be posting content on social platforms multiple times a day
  • Write social media copy and edit posts daily
  • Create graphics, photos, short videos and other engaging content with the support of our Brand Design team
  • Act as a liaison between the User Operations team to identify user questions and issues on social, helping User Operations to manage the customer service experience
  • Handle community management across channels, posting and responding to student comments regularly in a humorous style that’s native to the platform 
  • Partner with our Marketing Analyst to measure the right metrics to ensure the effectiveness of our marketing content and show the correlation between overall company user growth
  • Provide regular performance and growth updates to senior stakeholders via summary decks
  • Maintain awareness of the latest digital media updates, guidelines, and trends 
  • Manage paid influencer campaigns in coordination with external influencer agencies


What you bring to the table:
  • 10+ years experience as a social media manager, ideally in a consumer-facing role or at a top-tier creative ad agency
  • Paid media experience developing and implementing social-first ad campaigns, as well as sparking organic content
  • Experience directly managing a social media team
  • Experience working with influencers by negotiating rates, usage rights, and reviewing contract language (with support from our Legal Team)
  • Portfolio of past social media assets, including TikTok content
  • Some assets should be relevant to online trends or past current events
  • Resume of contributions to past ad campaigns or brand moments that capture the public’s attention, based on seasonal timing or in response to near real-time trends
  • Experience building assets in Canva; Canva social templates are already built and you will have design support as needed
  • Strength in storytelling across social media platforms
  • Experience with reputation management and upholding brand guidelines
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Flawless written skills, including a high attention to detail and grammatical accuracy
  • A genuine interest in education and learning
  • Experience with publishing and analytics tools such as Sprout Social


Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience building a brand from the US to other English-speaking markets (UK, AU)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams 
  • Used Quizlet, currently or in the past, for your own studies


Compensation, Benefits & Perks:

Salary transparency helps to mitigate unfair hiring practices when it comes to discrimination and pay gaps.  Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $150,000 - $173,000, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
