OverviewRambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider, is seeking to hire an exceptional Principal Quality Engineer to join our IC Operations-Quality team in San Jose, CA or Seoul, Korea or Taipei, Taiwan (work location will be dependent on the ideal candidate). Candidates will be joining some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world to develop products that make data faster and safer.As a Quality Engineer, the candidate will be reporting to the QA Director and is a full-time position. We are looking for innovative, proactive, and experienced quality engineer to support customer quality and drive supplier quality to consistently meet Rambus and customer requirements.Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for the majority of our office-based roles. We encourage employees to spend an average of at least three days per week working onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.Responsibilities• Coordinates customer requirements review with various teams to ensure Rambus has the capability and capacity to support the requirements.• Acts as the main day to day contact for customers on issues and requirements and collaborates with the internal teams and suppliers for a timely issue or request resolution.• Provides support and coordination of customer quality surveys and audits of Rambus or its suppliers.• Manages and supports customer's new product approval process and requirements.• Direct interface and collaboration with suppliers to monitor and control supplier quality.• Manages the flow down of special requirements to suppliers and ensures consistent compliance.• Conducts supplier quality audits, covering QMS and processes.• Drives supplier quality improvements through supplier audits, supplier quality reporting and corrective actions.• Drives supplier and customer issue resolution and ensures timely and quality 8D from suppliers.• Coordinate and manage the necessary actions on PCN with the customer.• Conduct regular reporting and controls to evaluate customer satisfaction (Scorecard).• Promote continuous improvement and quality mindset.• Maintain latest info on customer approved SCM and BOM.• Engage in multi-functional teams to establish product risk management strategiesQualifications• BS Degree in an Engineering discipline.• Min. 5 years' experience in Quality Engineering supporting customers and suppliers, in the semiconductor industry.• Auditor certification (ISO 9001, Supplier Audit), a plus• Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and use of analytical and problem-solving tools.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and very good command of English language and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group internally and externally with customers and suppliers.About RambusRambus is a global company that makes industry-leading memory interface chips and Silicon IP to advance data center connectivity and solve the bottleneck between memory and processing.
