WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

This position requires a highly motivated, innovative, and organized candidate with strong communication and technical skills. The Technician will support numerous R&D projects with laboratory, pilot plant, and production scale experiments under the guidance of R&D Scientists. A background in Science or Engineering with experience in food processing/product development preferred. This will be an interactive, hands-on position in the R&D Lab and Lab Pilot Plant.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist with experimental design to support pilot scale troubleshooting
  • Support projects with laboratory analytical work
  • Assist Scientists with lab scale batching
  • Support pilot plant scale operations with batching, filling and sample management
  • Provide technical assistance to cross functional team members when necessary
  • Support ingredient and supply management. Ability to work in refrigerated environment sampling products and ingredients for evaluation
  • Balance multiple project initiatives simultaneously and be flexible to changing directions
  • Support general laboratory cleanliness, organization and function


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR


A background in food science with experience in developing and commercializing beverage products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • General laboratory skills including balance use, volumetric measurement and food ingredient handling
  • Organizational and planning skills. Can execute timelines with guidance, that contain primary as well as contingency plans
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, builds effective working relationship at all levels. Team player
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and seek creative solutions when necessary
  • Computer skills include Excel, Word, Power Point, database and internet tools


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


• General knowledge of food processing equipment and technologies

  • Science background
  • 1-3 year experience in field preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Work environment includes office, lab, pilot plant and manufacturing locations.
  • Ability to walk or stand up to three-quarters of the workday. Physical ability to handle weights of approximately fifty pounds
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated environment on occasion
  • During the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize that certain “non-essential worker” personnel may at times store consumer-facing materials (including, but not limited to, EADs, coupons, promotional materials, etc.) offsite from Company locations, such as at associates’ homes or in vehicles. All such consumer-facing materials must be maintained in a smoke-free and secure workplace environment.


HOURS & WORKDAYS:

  • 1st shift, Monday through Friday, when business demands, overtime may be required.
