We are recruiting for an SEO & Trends Writer to join us, working across several of our fantastic South East and East Midlands titles, including but not limited to MyLondon, NottinghamshireLive and EssexLive.
This is a fantastic opportunity to write content that ensures our titles are reaching as many people as possible who are using search engines to find answers that we can legitimately provide for them. You will provide content which meets their search needs and also makes readers want to return and spend more time with us.
We’re looking for fresh ideas and new perspectives from people from a wide range of backgrounds, and we want you to tell us the stories you believe are important from our many communities so we can continue to diversify our content.

This role is home based and we are therefore open to candidates based across the UK.
What will the role involve?
You will dive into the world of trending topics, using search tools to discover what people are eager to read and learn about on Google Discover. You will identify areas where local brands can establish themselves as trusted authorities, crafting engaging content that aligns with search, while fulfilling readers' expectations. You will provide expert advice on enhancing local content for better search visibility. You will foster vibrant communities both online and offline, sharing published stories and engaging readers in meaningful discussions.
You will ensure every piece of content is meticulously researched and balanced, adhering to IPSO Code. You will champion Reach's commitment to diversity and inclusion, ensuring our non-discrimination values are upheld in everything we publish. This role will involve working shifts on a rota basis including some evenings and weekends, so a flexible approach is required.
Who are we looking for?
You are a passionate NCTJ (or equivalent) qualified journalist, with demonstrable writing experience in a similar newsroom environment. You have an understanding of what helps a story appear in someone's Discover feed or rank on a search engine results page. You are a first class writer with a proven track record of creating accurate digital content using video, words and pictures.
You have the skills to write engaging news content and you are passionate about the important role local journalism plays in our communities. You have excellent organisational skills and can forward plan content both reactively and proactively. You can create content at pace and meet deadlines with ease.
