Introduction to the team
Our Real Estate Outsourced Finance & Accounting consulting group at Moss Adams helps businesses to operate more effectively, make better decisions and spend less time on accounting and financial operations. The Consulting Senior Manager role is instrumental in our ability to deliver on our promise. We are looking for energetic individuals who have a passion for learning and using technology to provide outsourced finance & accounting services to our dynamic client base.

Consulting Sr. Managers serve as a valued business advisor to our clients by filling a variety of client roles such as a highly experienced Controller, Account Manager, and Senior Onboarding. Our Consulting Senior Manager’s oversee and supervise all teams providing real estate accounting consulting services. In addition, Consulting Senior Managers are responsible for managing the ongoing financial reporting operations including review of periodic financial reports, KPI’s, and other management reports. Consulting Senior Managers provides critical oversight and account management to ensure the right policies and procedures are implemented, controls are designed to mitigate risk, and ensures reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all Real Estate Accounting functions in their assigned portfolios reporting directly to the Partners
  • Maintain existing client relationships and assist Partners in developing new business for the firm in pre-identified industries and demographic sectors
  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures, and processes are adhered to at all times and that all assigned work is delivered on time and accurately to the client
  • Provide guidance and supervision of engagement teams to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Facilitates teams though problem solving and creative thinking processes leading to the development and implementation of new approaches, systems, structures, and methods
  • Follows sales process to increase firm’s probabilities of winning and maintains adequate number of active opportunities to achieve annual sales goal
  • Performs overview of financial statements for inconsistencies and opportunities of increased revenue generation or cost savings
  • Coordinate annual audit and/or tax return with outside CPA firm
  • Reviews journal entries prepared by team members
  • Facilitates updates needed to the general ledger and other data requirements


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience required
  • 7 years of accounting experience required; experience in real estate and/or property management strongly preferred
  • Advanced technology skill using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and QuickBooks required; Intacct, NetSuite, and other cloud accounting tool experience preferred
  • Advanced technical abilities in all aspects of accounting including, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, employee benefits, and general ledger accounting
  • Strong people and project management skills
  • Capabilities reading, analyzing, and interpreting financial and legal documents with an ability to respond to common inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, or the business community
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Experience in autonomous decision making and oversight weighing the costs, benefits, risk and chances for success

This is the typical range of pay for the position; however, actual pay may vary based on experience, skillset, and location. This position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Compensation Range: Compensation Range: California State (Excluding Greater Bay Area): $150,000 -$201,000; Greater Bay Area $150,000 -$225,000; Washington State (Excluding Greater Seattle Area) $150,000 -$188,000; Greater Seattle Area $150,000 -$197,000; Colorado $150,000 -$188,000
