Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) – Electrical Design Release Engineer

Re:Car dba Slate is a new company in the electric vehicle space looking for an experienced Vehicle Control Unit – Electrical Design Release Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring energy and organization to manage hardware, software releases, and supplier relations.

Skills

Proficient in electrical and control systems
Experience with low and high voltage systems
Strong communication and team-building skills
Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink
Knowledge of industry standards

Responsibilities

Develop functional requirements for the vehicle control unit (VCU)
Create comprehensive test plans for control modules
Manage release of control module software and hardware
Lead DFMEA reviews to mitigate technical risks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware and software compliance
Work with Validation Engineers on test plans and design adherence
Maintain cyber-security best practices
Apply LEAN Engineering methodologies

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or related field
Master’s degree preferred
