Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) – Electrical Design Release Engineer

Re:Car dba Slate is a new company in the electric vehicle space looking for an experienced Vehicle Control Unit – Electrical Design Release Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will bring energy and organization to manage hardware, software releases, and supplier relations.

Skills

  • Proficient in electrical and control systems
  • Experience with low and high voltage systems
  • Strong communication and team-building skills
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink
  • Knowledge of industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Develop functional requirements for the vehicle control unit (VCU)
  • Create comprehensive test plans for control modules
  • Manage release of control module software and hardware
  • Lead DFMEA reviews to mitigate technical risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on hardware and software compliance
  • Work with Validation Engineers on test plans and design adherence
  • Maintain cyber-security best practices
  • Apply LEAN Engineering methodologies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred
