Augmented Reality / Software & Test Department
The Engineering team at Red 6 develops technology to create a synthetic reality, allowing for unprecedented in-flight training capabilities that support our military partners’ operations. This enables us to collaborate and train with the world’s most advanced military systems and develop our warfighter’s capabilities as the world’s most important line of defense.
The Role
Our Software Test Engineer will have the aptitude, attitude, and professional experience to be a critical contributor to our software test team. As a Software Test Engineer at Red 6, you will have a hand in the design and development of test procedures and their corresponding test environments, including the engineering of novel test apparatus. You will execute verification and validation tests – and report test execution status to key stakeholders. You will review system requirements and track test metrics while contributing to test processes and future testing capabilities.
Qualifications
4+ years of experience working in test engineer capacity within the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with custom hardware in an Agile Scrum environment
Demonstrated ability to engineer testing environments and apparatus that comingle the software and physical world
2+ years applied experience with Linux-based software systems
Bachelor’s degree in STEM field
Hands-on experience with software test tools like: Test Complete, QTP, Selenium, JIRA, Jenkins, or GitLab
Preferred / Additional Skills
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrated ability to construct fully automated test environments
Experience in constructing test plans and procedures
Sound judgment in deciding how/what testing should be conducted given competing deadlines and shared resources
Deep experience in integration and regression testing
Software development experience, such as C++, C#, or Java.
Experience working in augmented/virtual reality
Experience working in a military solutions environment
Experience with computer vision, 6 DoF tracking technologies, and wearable display systems
