Senior/Lead Software Engineer, Frontend

We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Frontend Engineer with strong leadership capabilities to spearhead our user interface development initiatives. In this role, you’ll drive the creation of compelling, high-performance web applications using React, while guiding a talented team of developers. Your expertise will be crucial in setting technical direction, enforcing best practices, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences in a fast-paced startup environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement efficient, high-quality frontend code using React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Design and architect scalable, responsive user interfaces and component structures that meet evolving user demands.
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to translate business requirements and creative concepts into technical solutions.
  • Champion software quality in our React codebase by leveraging comprehensive testing practices, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure robust security and reliability across the user interface.
  • Mentor junior frontend engineers while championing best practices and maintaining rigorous coding standards throughout the development process.
  • Comfortable performing full stack development using Ruby on Rails for backend work when required.

What Characteristics and Skills Are We Looking For?
  • A flexible, forward-thinking technologist with a deep passion for innovation.
  • Prepared to embrace change and tackle challenges typical of a fast-paced startup.
  • Holds a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or brings equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Offers 7+ years of relevant experience in engineering roles.
  • Demonstrated mastery in building dynamic applications using JavaScript and React.
  • Skilled with backend API (RESTFul) technologies.
  • Expert in leveraging state management libraries and modern front-end tooling to create scalable applications.
  • Skilled in designing and implementing responsive, user-friendly interfaces that perform across devices.
  • Proven track record of mentoring teams, setting coding standards, and driving technical strategy.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communicator who excels at collaborating with cross-functional teams.
