Job Summary:
The Sr. Web Developer/Designer will lead the architecture and development of REE Medical’s web properties, collaborating closely with the Marketing team and company leadership. This role is responsible for building and maintaining company sites, optimizing landing pages for conversions, and ensuring the site performs well across multiple platforms while adhering to best practices and accessibility standards. This role requires a proactive communicator willing to collaborate cross-functionally with several stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of web design and compliance. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful web design and superior user interface design skills.
What is expected in this role:
- Owning and managing the architecture and development strategy for all web properties in collaboration with Marketing and leadership teams.
- This means you are building and maintaining company websites and landing pages optimized for conversions, aligned with overall marketing strategies.
- This means you are monitoring and maintaining website analytics, providing insights into performance and areas for improvement.
- Since we work in WordPress, this also means maintaining the WordPress environment, including themes and plugins. Ensuring regular updates and backups to keep the site secure and operational, this includes maintaining regular backups of the website and ensuring uptime and functionality.
- This includes adhering to high code quality and community standards for accessibility, CSS, PHP, HTML, JavaScript, and semantic HTML5 – including Implementing a consistent markdown style guide. And this means you are optimizing website code to meet performance standards, ensuring compliance with Google’s Page-Speed Insights, Page Experience, and Core Web Vitals.
- This also means you are using debugging tools such as Chrome Web Inspector to address website bugs, theme issues, plugin problems, and hosting environment concerns.
- Serving as the expert in user experiences (UX) and user interfaces (UI) for web applications.
- This includes optimizing site architecture and page content to create a seamless and efficient user experience tailored to the REE’s primary user personas.
- This includes conducting thorough testing ensuring consistent user experience across various platforms and devices.
- This means you are an expert at adhering website code and content with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliance guidelines.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across REE and at all levels creating innovative website designs to be unique and purposeful digital interfaces while aligning with all company Brand Standards.
- This means partnering with Compliance. We operate in a highly regulated field; compliance is key to our overall marketing success. Partnering with the department will ensure assets are aligned with any regulations or additional compliance requirements.
- This means collaborating with fellow team members and leaders aligning visual and editorial brand standards, confirming consistent messaging across web platforms, ensuring optimization, and establishing overall successful cohesion of all marketing inputs showcased through web design.
- This also means you are the key contact with external service providers for back-end development and data-related support.
How success is measured in this role:
- Consistent optimization of web properties leading to improved site performance metrics such as traffic, conversions, and engagement.
- Positive feedback on site functionality and user experience from internal teams and users.
- Timely resolution of technical issues to minimize website downtime and disruptions.
- Measurable improvements in SEO and web performance metrics (PageSpeed Insights, Core Web Vitals, etc.).
- ADA compliance across all web properties.
What you need in this role to be successful:
- 5+ years of experience in web development and design, with a strong focus on WordPress and other web design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong preference for experience translating into a Portfolio showcasing web design expertise, optimization, and strategic direction.
- Expertise in HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and WordPress theme/plugin management.
- Proven experience in optimizing websites for performance (e.g., Google PageSpeed Insights, Core Web Vitals).
- Experience with backend database management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with experience using debugging tools (e.g., Chrome Web Inspector).
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, Figma, or similar.
- Familiarity with ADA compliance and web accessibility best practices.
- Familiarity with Medical Industry Web Development a Plus!
- Familiarity with Veteran focused Organizations a Plus!
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry is Plus!
- Excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with an eye for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, Marketing, or other relevant fields required. An additional 2+ plus years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
