About the Role
As Regional Marketing Manager for North America, you will lead our regional marketing activities in North America, developing and executing a targeted field marketing plan for Opentrons Robotics to support new and existing automation platforms, with a focus on academia, biopharma and drug discovery segments. You’ll develop compelling engagement strategies and regional Marketing and Sales initiatives to drive awareness in and demand for Opentrons’ groundbreaking automation platforms.

The Regional Marketing Manager reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Marketing.

What You Will Do
  • Developing and execute a targeted regional marketing plan incorporating global and regional marketing strategy for new and existing automation platforms
  • Plan and execute demand generation marketing programs, e.g., webinars, sponsorships
  • Organize and execute regional sales enablement programs, e.g., local trade shows, customer blitzes
  • Support Sales and Distributors with education and tools, e.g., marketing materials, virtual and in-person training
  • Work closely with Client Services and Community to build a network of customer advocates and create avenues for them to connect with peers, communicate their science and successes
  • Work with Marketing Analyst colleagues to forecast and measure relevant KPIs, and introduce initiatives to improve metrics where appropriate
  • Communicate effectively, present, analyze and use data and feedback to drive improvement and problem solve; be a champion for continuous improvement


What We Are Looking For

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in biological sciences or related required; postgraduate degree preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in marketing, sales, customer success, application sciences or related roles in the life science industry
  • Experience with automation or instrumentation preferred


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • A passion for, background in, and/or understanding of life science industry
  • A strong vision of how the life-science technology landscape is developing, particularly within molecular biology, genomics and/or synthetic biology
  • You are a strong customer advocate whose center of gravity is in the field, learning from your customers.
  • You’re motivated by the potential of accessible, open-source lab automation to help life scientists accelerate their work on some of the world’s most important problems.
  • You have high EQ and bring out the best in those around you, providing context, clarity, and a healthy collaborative environment to the teams you work with.
  • You have an entrepreneurial sense of initiative and a bias for action; your colleagues count on you to roll up your sleeves and get things done.


Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Role is remote, but candidate must be available for frequent travel, up to 25%
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment
  • Fast-paced environment with a high volume of work to be completed daily
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Limited physical effort required

Compensation Range:
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $85,000-130,000 per year; base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. We typically target mid-range for well-qualified candidates. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including equity and full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
