Hours of work: 35 hours per week
Peel Region is seeking a Manager, Treasury Operations to lead governance and compliance functions, trade settlement, trade compliance, trade reconciliation, and the safekeeping of assets. This role will also oversee debt program obligations throughout the life of all debt issuances.
As a key leader within the Treasury team, you will have the opportunity to implement and integrate new treasury systems and procedural solutions to enhance processes, procedures, and reporting capabilities based on industry best practices. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day treasury operations, maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring adherence to governance and compliance requirements.
Oversee Treasury Operations, including trade operations, compliance, and debt management functions
Support investment and debt issuance activities while ensuring all debt obligations are met
Ensure adherence to treasury policies, regulatory requirements, and governance frameworks
Partner with internal teams to develop cash forecasting models and support capital planning processes
Manage relationships with banks, oversee cash management banking fees, and recommend optimizations
Identify opportunities to automate and consolidate treasury processes using best-in-class technology solutions
Lead the development of various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to support decision-making
Oversee contract negotiations and maintain treasury policies, documentation, and distribution
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA, MBA, MFin, CFA, or equivalent is an asset)
Minimum of seven years of experience in corporate finance or treasury operations
Expertise in cash management systems, securities, investment operations, and capital markets, including fixed income and money markets
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and risk management frameworks
Experience with treasury technology, including bank portals, treasury management systems, and custodial systems (Bloomberg expertise preferred)
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills to assess treasury operations, forecast cash flows, and support investment decisions
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to senior management and external stakeholders
Proven leadership experience in managing large projects and collaborating across departments
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for financial analysis and reporting
