Entry-level ActuaryJob Summary:At USAA, work towards the development of Automobile Pricing, Property Pricing, and P&C Actuary Data Modernization. You will be responsible for conducting intricate actuarial analyses to introduce new products, predict future results, and measure financial stability. This job is flexible in nature, allowing you to work remotely from anywhere within the continental U.S, with occasional travel requirements.Job Duties and Responsibilities:• Develop contingency plans to prepare for different levels of catastrophic events, using statistical modeling and analyses to determine potential impact and response requirements.• Collaborate in strategizing pricing objectives, forecasting market trends, and developing plans for product development, pricing, and crisis management.• Implement the use of actuarial modeling software in the production of original goods, the modification of current ones, and the determination of monetary stability, while being open to potential improvements and adjustments to models.• Achieve financial and market targets by keeping an eye on competing industries, market swings, and shifts in regulations.• Implement inventive strategies to tackle corporate ventures, imparting knowledge to coworkers on how to adapt to change and improve company performance.• Showcase a deep understanding of actuarial and business concepts by providing innovative solutions that effectively overcome complex business challenges.• Deliver insightful presentations during industry-level committee meetings as USAA's representative, utilizing relevant data sourced from actuarial data systems.• Implement an effective control mechanism to prevent or mitigate any adverse event that could harm the business operations.Qualifications and Experience:• Candidates must have either completed a Bachelor's degree or possess similar work experience, with at least 8 years in the field of analytics, actuarial sciences, or business.• The ACAS credential acknowledges members who have achieved a standard of proficiency in actuarial science pertaining to casualty insurance.• Having expertise in designing unconventional actuarial frameworks that provide unique solutions and perspectives can be influential in transforming an organization's metrics reporting system.• Effective communication and presentation skills are crucial for building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and colleagues alike.• Abilities required in pricing new personal line products, building and analyzing Generalized Linear Models (GLMs), or familiarity with property pricing in California.• The candidate's mastery in actuarial pricing is impressive, evidenced by their ability to employ multiple pricing methodologies and models.• The skill of translating complex analytics outcomes into easy-to-understand visual representations that can be presented succinctly to executive leadership and communicate results accurately.• Adept at managing numerous projects at once, refining priorities, and collaborating with several business associates.• Skilled in using Python/R/SQL and other programming languages to extract valuable insights from data and aid in decision-making processes.• Effective problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills are vital for professionals who want to excel in their field and contribute to their organization's success.Benefits of the Position:• The employer is willing to offer an extremely competitive salary range of $120,550 to $230,400, which is commensurate with the market and applicants' skills.• Incentivizing employees through monetary rewards for their role in contributing to both the individual and corporate accomplishments is a productive practice.• The company recognizes the importance of providing comprehensive benefits that go beyond just basic healthcare coverage.
