Chief of Staff

About us

Remo is building the new standard of dementia care. As a virtual provider, our expert clinical team designs care around patient and family needs (instead of a 1-size fits all approach). Our care model empowers patients to age in place, surrounded by those they love. We also empower family caregivers with a vibrant community of other caregivers, expert content, and tools to manage the path ahead. With Remo, caregivers get the support they deserve.

About the role

Remo is on a mission to fundamentally change the dementia care journey for patients and their family caregivers.

Our Chief of Staff will report directly to the CEO and play a central role in developing and executing company strategy in pursuit of our mission, as well as managing day-to-day administrative and operational needs. We’re looking for an independent, results-driven leader who delights in rolling up their sleeves to solve hard problems, is a master of cross-functional collaboration, and is obsessed with continual organizational performance.

What you’ll be doing

Executive leadership / Office of the CEO

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and confidant to the CEO, providing counsel, insights, and support on key initiatives across product, operations, clinical, and growth.  This involves a high degree of trust, discernment, and responsiveness.

  • Lead and manage special projects and initiatives on behalf of the CEO, supporting  cross-functional teams to deliver on their KPIs.

  • Serve as a liaison between the CEO and other departments — including Clinical, Operations, Product, Engineering, Growth, Finance, and People Operations — ensuring effective communication and coordination of efforts across the organization.

  • Coordinate schedules and manage preparation for regular Board meetings, Investor updates, and events. This includes scheduling meetings, documenting minutes, crafting regular written updates, and following up on next steps, with supervision from the CEO.

  • Schedule, prepare, and attend internal meetings and calls as needed (often as proxy for the CEO) to ensure proper records of meetings take place, including preparing agendas, follow-up action items, and notes.  This aspect requires rapid, executive-level synthesis for the CEO to convey the most up-to-date information and tie it to a strategic implications (e.g. “based on meeting X, we’re 2 weeks behind on timeline Y, here are the steps we’re taking to course correct”)

  • Strategically manage the CEO’s calendar, prioritizing appointments, coordinating internal and external meetings, managing travel plans and accommodations, and protecting their time. On-call availability to support the CEO as needed.

  • Serve as a delegate for the CEO, signing off on expenses and approvals where warranted.

Clinical

  • Collaborate with the CMO and Head of Clinical Operations to develop, implement, and refine effective and efficient processes around recruitment, onboarding and training.

  • Collaborate with the Government Programs director to stay abreast of regulation and policy changes (e.g. strategic implications of payment changes to the GUIDE model, new telehealth regulations, etc).

  • Collaborate with the Head of Clinical Operations to manage financial operations and reporting for our MSO and P.C. ecosystem, including assisting with budgeting, forecasting, vendors, and ad-hoc reporting requests.

Operations

  • Collaborate with CEO and COO to build out and implement our KPI framework on an ongoing basis.

  • Support the CEO and COO in holding the functional teams accountable to our targets: help us deliver on time, at the Remo Bar of excellence — by owning key processes (e.g. regular ELT meetings, then cascading those updates throughout the organization).

  • Support the CFO to proactively manage the annual budgeting process.

  • Manage key vendor relationships — including sourcing, contract negotiations, ongoing audits and accountability to SLAs — for key centralized processes (e.g. Deel, Ramp, JustWorks, etc) to ensure we stay operationally efficient with our tools and partners.

  • Attend monthly finance meetings and make recommendations to optimize vendor spend based — work with Finance and Accounting to ensure changes are implemented.

Growth

  • Collaborate with the Chief Growth Officer to coordinate data collection across other functions (Clinical, Product, Operations) to develop strong, efficient, compelling responses to questionnaires/RFIs/RFPs from prospective customers. On an ongoing basis, interface directly with these stakeholders to collect their inputs and support translation of those inputs into a higher level of abstraction that will make sense to our external stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing to manage the CEO’s social media presence.

  • Support customer implementation efforts via project management – convene the right stakeholders (e.g. Clinical, Operations, Product, etc) and help hold these stakeholders accountable to deliver against deadlines as we work against a go-live date with the specified customer.

Product / Engineering

  • Collaborate with the Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer, and Product Operations Manager to ensure that other functions — Growth, Operations, Clinical —  deliver timely, actionable inputs for our product development process.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Clinical Operations to ensure that our clinical teams have an active voice in making dyad-centric improvements in our provider tooling  – help them synthesize product feedback and convey it to our Product team.

People

  • Collaborate with People Operations to design and implement key processes – examples include organizational design, onboarding and training, performance management processes, learning and development programs, recruiting and onboarding.

  • Maintain a highly effective internal communications program to ensure all employees feel connected to their work, understand the future, and always know what to deliver.

  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration across the organization — be a cultural carrier for Remo’s WHY (our mission), WHAT (KPIs), and HOW (The Remo Bar, our Values).

What we’re looking for

  • 6-8+ years of experience in healthcare leadership, strategy, operations, or related roles, with a track record of success in driving change and achieving results.

  • Demonstrated track record of success overseeing complex, multidimensional projects with seniors executives from multiple functions including Product /Engineering, Finance, Operations, Clinical, Growth, etc.

  • Passion and commitment to Remo Health’s mission.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare delivery, clinical operations, and healthcare policy and regulations.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and develop actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Passion for healthcare innovation, quality improvement, and driving positive change in the industry.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and iterating quickly — you’re unafraid to take the first pass at something as a piñata to move things forward.

  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and initiatives, with strong project management and organizational skills.

  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships, motivate employees, and drive alignment and collaboration.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high degree of adaptability and resilience.

  • Data-driven approach to making decisions, running analytics, synthesizing results, and using that to frame a clear point of view with executive leadership.

  • Demonstrated track record of being a self-starter — you’ve brought new ideas to the table (and managed their follow-through) at a previous organization  that have driven significant business impact.

  • Strong values and a low ego — you value getting the problem solved more than pride of ownership.

Remo aims to reduce health inequities by improving access to affordable, high-quality dementia care. Embracing diversity and equal opportunity are core to that mission--these principles shape our culture, the products we build, and the services we deliver. We celebrate a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, reflecting the diversity of the caregivers and patients we serve.
