If you want to be a Difference Maker, Renewal by Andersen is the place for you.SUMMARYThis position will be working as a manufacturing engineer supporting a large capacity expansion project at our Renewal by Andersen location in Cottage Grove, MN.Primary focus will be project based and will include manufacturing system design, procurement of capital assets, installation and start-up of the complete manufacturing system.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESLead and/or support project teams on the successful commercialization and start-up of new fabrication/assembly equipment and processes.Interface with safety, quality, design, product engineering, supply chain, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability of new product or extensions.Provide recommendations regarding the viability of developed design solutions that relate to new or current processes.Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, kaizens, and Process System Design events.Ensure built in quality by using DMAIC tools: Process mapping, process capability, C&E Matrix, fishbone diagram, FMEA, MSA, DOE, Control Plans.Develop specifications to procure production equipment and/or complete production lines.Partner with the Safety Teams to ensure all new or modified processes meet or exceed corporate safety requirements.Create training tools, documents and standard operating procedures for production processes ensuring consistent manufacturability.Introduce new perspectives on existing solutions to continuously improve production and material flow processes.Provide operational technical support for existing applications and processes.• MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONSBS in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering experience3-5+ years of engineering experience preferred with mechanical aptitudeDemonstrate an understanding and application of methodologies associated with project planning and experience working with collaborative cross-functional teamsDemonstrate knowledge of lean manufacturing principalsStrong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsNICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS• Communicate effectively through written, verbal, listening, and presentation skillsKnowledge and experience with quality systems, statistical process control, process capability and lean manufacturing toolsKnowledge of 2D & 3D solid modeling preferred (AutoCad/Inventor)Travel requirements may be up to 25%, primary location Cottage Grove, MN.CULTURE AND BENEFITS"Be Orange.
