Apply now!Job SummaryThe Associate Director of the Office of Intellectual Propertyand Technology Licensing (IPTL) plays a crucial role in thetransfer of cutting-edge intellectual property (IP) from ourInstitute to the marketplace. The Associate Director of the Officeof Intellectual Property supervises IPTL staff and is responsiblefor directing all IP licensing and marketing activities, engagingwith key stakeholders including researchers and startups, andoverseeing the management of the IP portfolio, including iEdisoncompliance.Minimum Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., law, business,science, engineering)• 5 or more years in technology transfer, patent law, or relatedareasRelevant combinations of education, training and experience may beconsidered.Preferred Qualifications• Master's Degree in relevant field or Ph.D. in a STEM field• Experience in university technology transfer; 2+ years ofrelated leadership experienceMinimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities• Strong communication and negotiation skills• Excellent interpersonal, documentation, writing, andpresentation skills• Demonstrated ability to manage a team of professionalspracticing technology transfer• Ability to work independently and as part of amultidisciplinary team• Deep understanding of university technology transfer, patentapplications, and IP practices• Requires demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft OfficeSuite• Requires ability to analyze and interpret data, preferablyincluding scientific data• Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changingenvironment• Demonstrated problem solving and project management skills• Ability to work with a diverse group of university and privatesector individuals and groupsShiftBusiness Hours: Monday - FridayTravelLocal travel between campus locations onlyDrivingIncidental driving possible, but not requiredStarting Salary/RateExpected hiring range: $110,000 - $140,000Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salarywill be determined based on factors that include the availablebudget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications,experience, education and other job-related credentials.
