Research Assistant

Wayne State University is searching for an experienced Research Assistant at its Detroit campus location.

Essential functions (job duties):

  • Work closely with Dr. Rabinak and the Clinical Research Coordinator to make sure research studies are running smoothly, maintain compliance, and discuss any potential problems/issues.
  • Assist in data collection and management (e.g., neuroimaging, electrophysiology, psychophysiology, etc).
  • Assist in contacting and interviewing participants and research volunteers.
  • Assist in obtaining informed consent.
  • Assist in administering questionnaires and conducting clinical interviews.
  • Assist in preparing paperwork and communicating with IRB, sponsoring/regulatory agencies, and clinic and research staff.
  • Assist in entering, managing, analyzing and preparing data for presentations and grant applications; and other tasks assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field.
  • Effective communicator (oral and written), strong interpersonal and organization skills with great attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Knowledge of computer operation, including word-processing, database and statistical software.

Preferred qualifications:

· Experience conducting clinical research with traumatized populations · Experience collecting and analyzing neuroimaging data
