Job Description Summary:
Design and implement experiments aimed at understanding the role of bile acids and transporters in liver injury. The position will also involve maintaining laboratory inventory, purchasing reagents and consumables, and organizing the laboratory, animal colonies, and storage freezers.
Job Description:
Investigate the role of transporters in liver injury. Assist with performing in vivo studies. Maintain (including genotyping) mouse and rat colonies. Preparing samples for analysis. Ordering, maintaining, and organizing inventory in the laboratory. Prepare buffers and reagents for laboratory use. Maintain well organized documentation of complex bill payment systems. Literature search. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. ** Required Qualifications **
Minimum Bachelor's Degree, with experience in a scientific discipline.
Experience with rodent handling and colony management.
Basic molecular biology and analytical knowledge. ** Preferred Qualifications **
Master's Degree in a scientific discipline.
Experience in liver research and transgenic/knockout mouse and rate models.
Experience with techniques including ELISA, western blotting, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, chromatography, and enzyme assays.
Knowledge of liver biology and experience with research in the area of hepatology, pharmacology, toxicology.
Demonstrates competence in areas of critical thinking, interpersonal relationships and technical skills.
Outstanding written and communication skills in English.
