Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$22.351 - $27.939 - $33.527

What You Will Do
Research Assistant will assist Clinical Trials Research Specialists in organizing and implementing research studies by providing clerical support, clinical and protocol assistance and laboratory functions.

1 year experience in psychiatric setting.

Essential Functions
-
Assists in study subject admission/discharge, medical records handling, and clinical care of study subjects.
Arranges transportation of study subjects for protocol visits.
Demonstrates ability to work with the psychiatric study subject, assisting in their clinical care.
Demonstrates understanding and assists in admitting/discharge process of study subjects.
Assists physicians with physicals.
Demonstrates the ability to perform ECG and vital signs.
Performs venipuncture for lab evals and demonstrates ability to use centrifuge.
Orders dry ice and prepares all laboratory kits for Federal Express or Airborne pick-ups.
Places reports in appropriate patient source document/CRF and in proper location and sequence. -
Customer service and teamwork
Assists monitors when needed, e.g., copies necessary paperwork, prepares rooms for monitor's visits, answers questions regarding labs and temperature charts.
Demonstrates an understanding of psychiatric diagnosis and psychotropic medication
Exhibits flexibility and takes initiative to assist all research staff members.
Maintains a safe environment and the confidentiality of all study subjects. -
Perform general clerical duties
Demonstrates ability to set priorities on job assignments and projects which are to be completed within time period.
Demonstrates knowledge of Word, Group Wise, Excel, and IDX computer programs.
Keeps storage area and general appearance of office, clean, neat, and organized.
Demonstrates knowledge of typing, copying, faxing, and filing procedures.
Keeps mandatory temperature logs for all studies.
Obtains MD's signatures for 1572 and disclosure forms for all studies.
Takes inventory of all lab kits, looking for shortages and expiration dates and orders additional kits as needed
Assembles new charts for both inpatient and outpatient study subjects.
Sorts, packs and keeps list of all records sent to archives.
