Job Description Summary:
Seeking a self-motivated and hard-working research associate. He/she/they will plan, organize, and conduct research independently and upon approval of the principal investigator(s); design, test, and evaluate methods and protocols for research projects; analyze, summarize, organize collected data, and participate in the publication of results in professional journals.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in biological science
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in biological sciences

Demonstrates extensive cell culture and sterile techniques experiences
-
Possesses previous work experience in electrophysiology, preferably using Ussing chamber techniques
-
Versatile in protein isolation, gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, and DNA, RNA techniques
Job Duties Outlined:
-
Conducts physiological experiments using the Ussing chamber techniques (70%)
-
Cultures mammalian cells using primary airway epithelial cells at the air-liquid interface (10%)
-
Performs biochemistry experiments as needed (20%)
-
Researches new products, tests, and methodological instruments and reports to the principal investigator relative to feasibility, quality, and benefits of such new developments

Adapts procedures or methods relative to changes in research projects

Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures, and work under the direction of a principal investigator, program director or designee of the principal investigator or program director, such as a Sr. Research Associate or above.

Collects and analyzes complex data
- Records all research performed in lab-books or electronically

Summarizes completed protocols and studies; participates in the writing of scientific articles and manuscripts for publication and presentation

Participates in the progress of other research projects during daily huddles and weekly lab-meetings
