The Role:
Moderna is seeking a Lab coordinator, Bioanalytical and Molecular Laboratory, to serve as a Lead sample coordinator and a point of contact for the GLP/GcLP regulated laboratory. This position involves activities related to the sample chain of custody including lifecycle of biospecimens, including collection, storage, shipping, receipt, usage, and destruction. This position reports to the Sr Manager of Bioanalytical and Molecular Assay group and is a part of Moderna’s Clinical Biomarkers group.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Maintain an accurate and concise inventory of clinical and non-clinical Biospecimens across various studies
Receive biospecimen shipments, document any biospecimen issues or discrepancies, and notify appropriate internal and external colleagues as needed
Accession biospecimens in LIMS database and organize biospecimens for pickup by laboratory scientists
Coordinate biospecimen shipments to external laboratories upon request
Manage study-specific timelines and deliverables, order supplies, maintain equipment and perform routine operational/administrative tasks
Work with clinical study teams to retain and discard biospecimens in compliance with subject Informed consent and applicable regulatory requirements
Perform data entry and track forms, questionnaires, and other pre clinical and clinical materials
Understand and assist in data reporting needs such as biospecimen metrics, manifests and status reports for queries surrounding inventory
Ensure biospecimen process consistency across preclinical and clinical studies within their respective Projects and manage biospecimen logistics
Proactively identify biospecimen-related issues and opportunities for continuous improvement, communicating gaps to management
Assist with sop development and processes related to biospecimens
Documentation maintenance and appropriate archiving as needed.
Follow GLP/GcLP standards, regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures and safety practices
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor's degree required in Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline
3 to 5 years of relevant clinical sample accessioning experience and strong computer experience with expertise in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc.
Previous experience in working in CAP/ CLIA, GLP regulated laboratory preferred
Knowledge in clinical sciences and technology
Previous experience in digital automation preferred
Attention to detail, organizational ability, judgement and good communication skills
